We Offer Five Membership Categories To Fit Your Professional Needs

  • To be eligible for professional membership, an individual shall:

    1. be engaged in school counseling work or in the training, preparation, or supervision of counselors and have at least 50% of his/her time devoted to these activities;

    AND

    2. be fully certified as a professional school counselor by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as having attained the specific requirements for the school counseling position they hold.

  • Students who are in training and preparation for school counseling work but not currently employed as a professional school counselor shall be eligible for student membership upon presenting a statement from their major advisor. Student members shall be entitled to a 50% reduction in dues.

  • To be eligible for emeritus membership, an individual shall:

    1. have held membership in MSCA for 10 years;

    2. be retired;

    3. shall not be employed as a full time professional school counselor; and

    4. complete the application annually.

  • Any person interested in counseling but not eligible for any other type of membership may become an affiliate member upon approval of the Governing Board.

  • Any organization desiring to contribute to the support of the activities of MSCA may seek an annual sustaining membership. View sustaining members here.

If you need to change your membership type (example: from Student to Professional), please contact the MSCA Office prior to renewing your membership.  This change can only be made by a site administrator and will ensure you renew at the correct membership level.
